The Arments story began in 1914, the year of the G

The Arments story began in 1914, the year of the Great War, when William and Emily Arment bought their first pie shop. Situated at 386 Walworth Road the shop was decorated in the traditional style of the day, with glazed tiled walls, marble table tops, opening sash windows – and a floor covered with sawdust!

The couple knew the property well since Emily’s sister Liz had been working in the pie shop for previous owners The Evans family. Liz joined couple William and Emily in the running of what was to become Arments Eel & Pie House. This involved hard work - and long hours preparing the pies and potatoes entirely by hand.

William was originally from Middlesex, but Emily was a true Cockney – having been born within the sound of the Bow Bells. 🔔

The pies were amazing as was the liquor and by far the best we ever eaten. We would recommend this company for pie and mash lovers. Very easy to order and service was efficient. A great find."

Being a family run business, Metin and Sibel Sefer with their chef Sukru and Halide, who takes the orders, offer a welcoming and personal service to all their customers.

Metin Sefer says ‘we want to sell Arments Pie & Mash because we have had a lot of demand from loyal customers insisting it’s specifically from Arments. We also believe it is the best Pie & Mash available in London and we are pleased to be one of their Licensed Sellers.’

Along with other great favourite breakfasts and dinners, Arments Pie & mash is available 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday for both takeaway and sit-in. You’ll also find some outside café style seating available for those of you wishing to sit in the open air.

We believe vegans should have equal access to deli

We believe vegans should have equal access to delicious pie and mash. Our vegan pies may lack meat – but they don’t lack flavour. We fill them with minced soya, along with fresh vegetables, spices and herbs. All of course encased in a wonderful golden short crust pastry. 🤤

"The veg pies were delicious with a lovely buttery pastry, not a soggy bottom to be had. The mash was generous as was the lovely Liquor which took me back to my childhood. It was delivered on time and packaged well."
