Arments Pie & Mash Turns 112 – Here’s to Our Amazing Customers
Arment’s Pie & Mash has been serving proper London pie, mash and liquor since 1914. That’s 112 years of hand-baked pies, fluffy mash, secret-recipe liquor and zero fuss. We’re still here because of you – the locals who’ve queued after a shift, the families who’ve made it Friday-night tradition, and everyone who’s ordered online or grabbed an order for themselves or for their mates. You kept us going through the Blitz, through changing tastes, and through every year since. Thank you!
We started at 386 Walworth Road with Emily and William Arment buying an existing pie shop from the Evans family. Four generations later, we’re still in Walworth at 7-9 Westmoreland Road, still using the same family recipe, still mincing fresh Scottish beef daily. From street-food staple to national treasure, pie & mash is proper London heritage – and we’re proud to carry the torch.
Come and celebrate our 112th birthday with us
Tuesday, 14th April, is the big day. Pop in, grab your usual, or treat yourself to something extra. Or order online for chilled delivery to your home or office. You can be assured of the same high quality you’ve come to know and trust. We’ve also re-tested our pies, mash and liquor: they now have a confirmed 8-day shelf life in the fridge. You also have the option of freezing our products (except eels) for those just got to have pie and mash moments. Perfect if you want to stock the freezer or send a proper East End feast to family.
